Could You Develop Psychic Power?
I once knew a girl in school who could sometimes and quite accurately tell us things like whether a teacher would be absent that day or her own marks in a certain paper before the results. Though we held her in awe but never really thought much about her abilities except concluding the phenomenon as a exceptionally good gut feeling. Well, now when I come to think of it, my childhood friend was a psychic having a well developed psychic power of precognition.
Psychic power refers to the ability of perceiving information from one’s surroundings which are otherwise hidden from the five sensory organs. Thus, a person can be termed a psychic if he/she has the special ability to see, hear, feel or know certain things which other people cannot. Commonly known as extra sensory perception, psychic powers are believed to be born with or developed after a tragic near death experience or a major event in a person’s life which might have turned him towards a spiritual lane. Whatever might be its origin, it has a profound impact on the person’s life being perceived as either a special gift or a curse.
Various types of psychic powers exist in the world. The most common being those of telepathy, clairvoyance and precognition. While telepathy involves perceiving and knowing the thoughts of another person, clairvoyance refers to seeing things which are far away or are otherwise not available to you or anybody else. Precognition on the other hand is the psychic power of predicting future events.
In case of telepathy, the psychic is able to know what is going on in another person’s mind or what he is feeling. This power varies from a level of mere knowing what he feels or wants to do, to an advanced level where the psychic can infuse his own thoughts into the his mind.
Clairvoyance on the other hand involves ‘clear viewing’ of events which are otherwise hidden or occurring far away. Also known as ‘Remote Viewing’ this power leads to seeing a loved one or seeing an object or a place and getting information about the same from thousands of miles away. It must be mentioned here that clairvoyance has a subtle difference with that of the highly similar psychic powers of clairaudience and clairsentience. While the former refers to ‘hearing’ stuffs far away, the latter involves ‘knowing’ certain things which are otherwise hidden or forgotten.
Precognition again is the psychic power of predicting about the future. It involves knowing about the future, predicting outcomes of courses of action, informing about events before they happen and dreaming about future incidents. Precognition can be stated to be the most common as well as the most popular of all psychic powers. Its popularity stems from human’s innate desire of knowing about the future and thus astrologers, tarot readers and the like have a high demand.
The existence of other psychic powers though less common than the three mentioned above, can be seen throughout the world. These include channeling, your ability to establish contact and communicate with spirits or outside intelligence; astral projection, your ability to leave your own body and travel in spirit to another place; aura reading, your ability to read or perceive the energy fields of another person; levitation, your ability to ascend to a level off the ground or psychokinesis, your ability to move things with the power of your thoughts.
Lastly, in the aftermath of this discussion it must be concluded that whatever psychic power one possesses should always be though of as a special gift and developed and improved upon responsibly to help fellow human beings.
